Tea Time at the Hidden Tea Room
My mom and I love try new restaurants in our area, and one of the places we’ve been trying to get to is The Hidden Tea Room in Lodi, CA. The Hidden Tea Room is open for afternoon tea on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, though you need a reservation to get in on Saturdays. Because of our schedules, we were never able to make time to try it. Thank you maternity leave!
We got pretty lucky to get in at a time when we were the only ones inside the location. Her and I are definitely the people who get really excited about new places and start taking photos of everything! From the decor to the tea setting to the food, everything was a picturesque moment for sure.
If you get in during the week (open from 12 PM to 4 PM), each person can get tea, scones and desserts for $12.50. Since the tea room is also a part of Corner Scone Bakery, you also have access to a specially curated menu of lunch items for an extra charge.
I started out with the Jasmine green tea, which had a more crisp, brighter taste than most Jasmines I’d had in the past. I highly recommend enjoying this tea with a slice of Meyer lemons if they have them. The owner said it reminded her of Summer, and that lemon really made that statement come to life for me!
Next up, we were served delicious lemon and berry scones to enjoy with three spreads: lemon custard, triple berry jam, and a type of butter I can’t quite recall at the moment. I stuck to the custard and jam as I really wanted to see how these unique spreads held up in taste. I was not disappointed!
We ended our experience with a rich variety of desserts which we ended up having to take with us because we didn’t plan out our eating schedule well enough. Definitely come with an empty stomach as these treats are more filling than you expect!
No matter the number of guests you have going with you, there’s a table setting readily available with each table having its own unique decor. All of the tea cup sets are vintage and lovely to use. The entire experience was so lovely and brought back up such wonderful memories of my bridal shower. I had a tea time themed around Harry Potter, and this experience made all those memories so much more special.
If you’re looking to enjoy a true tea time experience of your own, you should definitely find time to visit The Hidden Tea Room in Lodi, CA. It’s definitely worth the experience and the perfection of the dessert and teas more than make the cost worth it. For more information, click here to check out their website.
